Day 9
Focus Thought
Don't Overeat. Only eat
until you are satisfied. Overeating places an added burden on your liver and detoxification pathways.
Daily
Prescription for Health
The main
reason many Americans are obese is simply gluttony and Christians are no exception.
If you
tend to be an overeater, here are some pointers that can help. Chew your food slowly (each bite should be chewed thirty times), and rest between bites. Set
the fork down between bites. Give your stomach a chance to find out how full it is before you give it more. It
generally take 20 minutes for the brain to inform you that you are full and satisfied. Thus, slow down when eating.
A deep breath at the end of a meal is a sign that your body is satisfied.
Plan a walk right after dinner. When you dine out, take half of the meal home or split the meal with someone.
Daily Spiritual Journey
Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and ye are
not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your spirit which are God's. ( 1
Corinthians 6:19-20).
Gluttony or undisciplined eating, is a spiritual and emotional problem first and foremost; a dietary problem second.
Gluttony is a lack of temperence. For most with a weight problem, the root cause is emotions based eating.
You don't have to be overweight to be a glutton, If your weight is normal, but you constantly gorge yourself
on every unhealthy food the flesh desires, you're eating is also out of control. Remember, God sees the heart and
the lack of discipline in your life.
Break out of unhealthy, undisciplined eating by loving, accepting, and forgiving yourself. Only you can restrain
your appetite. You must make the right choices in both food and drink.
Prayer
Dear Lord, as I continue this
fast, I m encouraged to realize that it will cause others to see you in me. As Your Spirit gives me power to break free
from undisciplined eating habits, I ask that more of Your character and power will flow through my life. I cannot break
these habits in my own strength, I receive your strength to exercise temperence and break free from excess, undisciplined
eating habits. In Jesus name!
